A Novel Method to De-rope and Disperse Carbon Nanotubes in Solvents and Polymers and Their Applications Case Number: 2527TEES07 Functional utilization of Inorganic Conductive Films Inorganic Conductive Coatings Inorganic Conductive Bulk Materials Bio-Applications Description of Invention:  This novel technology is used to achieve individual tube level dispersion of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) into various mediums for applications in functional organic/inorganic conductive films, coatings, and bulk materials with greatly enhanced electrical and thermal conductivities and/or mechanical properties.  All the current methods for dispersing CNTs in solvents use organic compounds as dispersing agents but TAMUS 2527 can be applied to aqueous solutions, as well. The dispersion obtained by using current methods is expensive, and large bundles of CNTs can still be seen. The CNTs are sometimes unstable and non-homogeneous.
